Biography
Michael Kam began his legal career as the Chief Assistant District Attorney for the Coweta Judicial Circuit from 1978-1980. Soon after entering private practice in 1980, Michael became the first attorney in Coweta County to place an emphasis on representing persons injured by the negligence of others and, for many years, was responsible for obtaining the three largest personal injury verdicts in Coweta County.
Michael's reputation as a relentless advocate for his clients was displayed on Court TV in 1995 when he was obtained a not guilty verdict in a DeKalb County murder trial. In 2001, Michael was involved in representing the family of an elderly person injured at a nursing home, where the jury returned the largest nursing home abuse verdict in Georgia.
An accomplished magician, Michael has performed as the first magician at the Grand Ole Opry; on opening night at the Atlanta Center for Puppetry Arts; as the Premier Performer for the Columbia, Maryland Renaissance Festival; and internationally, in Israel, and on the Great Wall of China. Michael often gives charity performances for the Special Olympics and The Very Special Arts.
Michael and his wife Debbi live in Newnan. Their son Erik is a doctor in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; daughter Amy is in the marketing department at the Atlanta office of Alston & Bird, one of the largest law firms in the country; and son Jason is a student at West Georgia University.
