The firm was established in 1994 by Randy J. Ebersbach
and Michael G. Kam after leaving the Newnan firm of Rosenzweig,
Kam, Jones & MacNabb, P.C. A fixture
near the intersection of Georgia Highway 34 and Georgia Highway 154 since
1994, the firm moved to its present building in 1997. Brian D. Lewis joined
the firm in 1999 after leaving his role as supervising attorney for the
Coweta County office of the District Attorney.
We have successfully represented thousands of clients,
providing representation in many areas of litigation. Our attorneys
are well known throughout the legal community and are known for
our preparation and commitment to our clients' interests. Each case
is prepared as if it will go to a jury trial although we employ
all reasonable means of resolution. It is through this dedication
to representing our clients' interests that we are able to maximize
recoveries. The attorneys of Kam, Ebersbach, & Lewis, P.C. also
have extensive experience with out of court remedies including negotiations,
mediation and arbitration. The Firm has negotiated, litigated and
mediated numerous multi-million dollar settlements and verdicts.
Our attorneys are often called upon to provide
their litigation expertise to other law firms, attorneys and public
officials. Although the firm most often faces them in an adversarial
posture, we frequently are called upon to represent the interests
of law enforcement officers and prosecuting attorneys. The firm
concentrates its practice on the following areas of Civil and Criminal
Law:
CIVIL LITIGATION: The Firm concentrates
on enforcing the rights of persons injured as a result of the negligence
of others including victims of nursing home and long term care abuse;
wrongful death claims; automobile and tractor trailer collisions;
workplace injuries; medical and other professional malpractice and
product defects. The firm also represents clients in all matters
of general civil litigation.
CRIMINAL LITIGATION: The Firm enforces the
rights of those accused of misdemeanor and felony crimes, and traffic
offenses including Driving Under the Influence in all courts and
agencies in the State of Georgia. Kam, Ebersbach, & Lewis, P.C.
also represents youths under 17 years of age in Juvenile Courts
in the State of Georgia. Mr. Kam and Mr. Lewis, combined, have over
28 years of experience in criminal litigation. Both Mr. Kam and
Mr. Lewis started their legal careers in prosecution as Assistant
District Attorneys for the Coweta Judicial Circuit. Mr. Kam earned
an acquittal for a client on a high profile criminal case that was
televised nationally on Court TV in 1994. (Georgia v. Blackwell)
Several landmark cases in the State of Georgia
were litigated by members of the firm:
Arnold v. Arnold, Georgia Court of Appeals,
which changed the law on family immunity;
Hewitt v. Kalish, Georgia, which changed
the status of professional malpractice cases;
Griffies v. Coweta County Board of Commissioners,
et.al, which affected the constitutional duties of elected
officials
Roden v. Starcrest of Newnan, et.al,
in which a jury found for the injured party in a nursing home
abuse case in the total amount of $3.3 million, believed to be
the largest verdict for a nursing home abuse case in the State
of Georgia.
In addition to the firm's success in the field
of law, Kam, Ebersbach, & Lewis, P.C. remain committed to its
involvement in the community. The firm has sponsored numerous athletic
teams, charities, and artistic and theatrical events.
